dinner with PaUL, who was to arrange an appointment with WIIXIE at which : v
time BILL LAWRENCE and other newspaper men would "accidentally" turn up when
PAUL ROBESON asked WILATE to serve on the canmittee to end Jim Crowlan.
Also, Informant advised that DAVIS and LAWRENCE discussed inviting others =<
to serve on the committee at PAUL's invitation and when these persons ine
wited to serve on the committees said yes, a statemant could then be issued
in their nama and PAUL "wouldn't have to do anything". Informant
further advised on July 17, 1%4 that BENJAMIN J.DAVIS conferred with GIL
GREEN and mentioned that PAUL ROBESON was endsavoring to make an appointment
with BRANCH*RICKEY ef the Brocklyn Dodgers "on the baseball question’. = 9 “i>”
It 4s noted that in the Daily Worxer of December 2, 1%3 on page 1, column
2, there is a statement that Jim Crowisn in baseball suffered a bad blow
when Judge Ke Me Iandis, Commissioner of Baseball, invited PAUL ROBESON to
discuss the question of negro participation in the game on December 3, 1943
at the Hotel Roosevelt, lew York City.
On November 3, 19%4, Special Agent SEED odvised that Sic.
in a pamphiet entitled "Equal Justice and Democracy in the Service of Victory"

ROBESON to get in touch with LOUISE (BRANSTEN) at San Francisco since LOUISE
