The files of the Passport Office, United States Depart-
ment of State, reviewed by a representative of the Federal Bureau
of Investigation on October 27, 1965, contained the following .
information:
Passport Z-162475 issued to Eslanda Goode Robeson on
July 24, 1962, was renewed on or about August 4, 1965, at
Washington, D. C. In her application for passport, dated in
July, 1965, she stated that she intended to depart from New ____
York in mid August, 1965, for a proposed three to four months
trip to Britain for the purpose of "to close out our flat in
London where we lived for five years". In the event of death
or accident, she requested that Paul Robeson, her husband, be
notified at 16 Jumel Terrace, New York, New York.
