Cc ATES * DETATIS: ; Pa cr? |, on Confidential Info reported that \o PAUL ROBESON Was one of the sponsors and a member of ‘tne Executive Committee of the American Crusade to End Lynching which had set up headquarters at 23 West 26th Street, New York City. According to the informant, the said Committee planned to hold a "march on Washington on Monday, Septenber 23, 1946, delegates from all over the country to be participants therein." In New York City, the Negro Congress planned to send representatives and the Communist Party, Harlem, also would send representatives, according to the informants On September 12, 1946, at a pre-election rally, sponsored by the Independent Citizens Committee of the Arts, Sciences and Professions and the National Citizens Committee~Pac held in Madison Square Garden, PAUL ROBESON stated that no government as done so much for its people as Russia has.
