column 1, reported that PAUL ROBESON gave a concert on dune 1,
1951, which was sponsored by the Greater New York Negro Labor lb
Council}? at the Yolden Gate Ballroom in New York City. The iD
concert marked the opening of the Councfi'ts first convention.
