Stubbs, of the Department, advised that the Attorney General is planning to hold.a Chiistmas party for about 1, 100 underprivileged boys and girls from the Washington, D. C., area, These children will be between the ages of 9 and 11 and this affair will be held in the Great Hall and the Justice Courtyard, Mr. Stubbs indicated that the Attorney General's assistant, Dave Hackett, will be in charge of the program, and that { entertainment will be provided, consisting of a group of clowns, a magician, and several stars of i the, Washington Redskins' football team have also been | | invited. He mentioned that in the event of snow they planned to have horsé drawn | sleds take the children around the courtyard, and that should weather conditions not pernvit this, they were looking into the feasibility of hiring a snow machine for this purpose. Present plans call for the children to be brought to the Great ‘ Hall at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 1963, by D. C. Transit Company buses which will also return them at the end of the party about 4:00 P. M. . | Mr. Stubbs explained that the Attorney General is greatly interested in this j fs and wanted him to check to see if it would be at all possible for the FBI to put on a series of firearms demonstrations for the children. He said that if this were possible necessary arrangements could be worked out to our convenience and satisfaction, and that the demonstrations could be scieduled . across the entire two hour period so that our facilities would not be overloaded, ' Mr. Stubbs was advised that our Indoor Range is also used as a training facility at this time of the year in addition to being used for Fi-I Tours, and i that we would have to check our commitments to see what our situation is on that date and time.
