Ed Morgan, former Inspector, called me this morning and said he Y
wanted to pass along a little information which he thought might be helpful to \
the Bureau in connection with the present controversy with Robert F. Kennedy, ‘yy
former Attorney General, concerning his knowledge about such installations \
throughout the field by the FBL Morgan said he just returned from a West Coast \)
trip where he was representing a group of individuals in connection with a \9
television station. He said one of the individuals involved was Bill Simon, former,
SAC at Los Angeles. He stated that Simon was taking him, Morgan, foraride 7% 3.2
around Los Angeles and during the ride Simon mentioned in his conversation the “ie
"extreme personal interest Kennedy would take in connection with FBI investigativi o ny

Morgan said the conversation with Simon preceded the current news per’ } ae :
publicity about the use of microphones by the FBI and Kennedy's knowledge Fs PE

Kennedy visited New York and Chicago but that we might want to check Los Angeles a
