Among the persons wie. signed this atatement was Professor ROBERT &. LYND of Columbia University. it is stated on this document that the same was s reprint published by the Young Communist Leage, 1514 Frospect Avenues, Cleveland, Vbic. | Miscellansous An undated and unidentified peinted handbill entitled "In Defense of the Bill of Rights", carries a protest against alleged curtailment of the eilvil rights of certain minority groups {neluding the Communist ‘arty. The handdill states "We point out sharply that this. concerted campaign to lay the basis for outlied-supp1 of the Communist Farty is reminiscent .of .the postwar, hysteria which culminated in the now, universally. demned Palmer Raids. We are not Co not concerned at this moment with the x of the doctrines advocated by the Communists. interested only in the indisputable merit, of “our: American. tradition of free speech and th naequences: to the non-Communiat majority of thé suppréssion oft Communist minority".
