The 1941 Annual Report of the NAACP listed Roy
Jilkins as Assistant Secretary and Editor of the "Crisis"
fp 1942. The renort also indicated that tn 1941 Wilkins
ad attended 60 meetings and had addressed 23 meztings tin
schools, churches, foruns, etc. (No evaluation)

The "Datly Worker" on 4-1¢-41 carried an article
entitled: "Rap Annapolis Ban on Harvard Negro Athlete." The
article discussed protest made by various groups and individuals
concerning the policy of the U.S. Naval Academy which barred
a Negro star on the Harvard lacrosse team from playing in a
gane against the navy. The article quoted a telegram published
in the "Harvarc Crinson" which was sent Sy Foy Wilkins, Assistant
Secretary of the NAACP, condeming the favy policy.
