The name of "Roy Wilkins (C), Acting Secretary of
the NAACP," appeared ina list of witnesses who testified before
the Senate Subcomnittee on Education and Labor on 3-14-45, at
hearings held in the Senate Office Butiding Washington, D.C.,
regarding FzPC legislation. (Source not given)

received from Roy Wilkins, Acting NAACP Secretary, tn which
Filkins expressed the anorehenston of colored people over the
problen of the segregation policy of the Arny. The President's
letter stated the Arny was studying the problen.
The "Peoples’ Voice" on 2-17-45 contained an article
which quoted a "Letter to the Editor” written by Roy Wilkins.
Wilkins took issue with the newspapers on tts interpretation of
the President'a letter to the NAACP regarding the Arny's
segregation policy. Wilkins regarded the President's letter as
a “clever missive" but failing to offer any real hope for a
