and pewsmen and addressed the audience, stating, "There is
no justice for blacks at City Hall," whereupon he was

Lavaon, Jr,, who spoke, saying, "We have to escalate our
fight,” and he emphasized that he would bring a wave of
national civil rights leaders and other individuals from other
parts of the country to Memphis to aid in the current strike
struggle and &1s80 emphasized that Roy Wilkins, Hat ional
Zxecutive Secretary of the NAACP, would appear in town on
March 14, 1968, and possibly Bayard Rustin of the A. Philip
Randolph Institute would come to Menphis to address the
strike supporters,
