JOHN ALLEN WILLIAMS, was interviewed at approximately 1015 hours on 24 October 2002, at the Montg lice Family Services Division, 7300 Calhoun Road, Rockville, Maryland by Detectiv aior Crimes Unit, Montgoniery County Police (MCP), Rockville, Maryland and FBI Special Agent After being advised of the nature of the interview and the identity of the interviewers, provided the following information: . ; MUEIAMMAD a black male, stated his date of birth is 30 December 1960, with a place of birth of New Orleans, Louisiana. MUHAMMAD has brothers and sisters but only provided names for a younger brother. Janda siste MUHAMMAD stated he graduated from Scottlinville (phonetic spelling (ph)) High School, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1978. Upon graduation, MUHAMMAD joined the United States Army National Guard (ARNG). He attended Basic Training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri and was trained as a combat engineer. At the completion of his training MUHAMMAD was assigned to the 769" Enpineer Battalion. In addition to working with the ARNG, MUHAMMAD worked as a welder in a scrap metal yard as well as a shipyard. - MUHAMMAD’S oldest child sl 1 was born out of ‘wedlock. The mother of his eldest child i , \D’S-first marriage was to 981 to 1986._ d MOHAMMAD had one child together, is 19 years old. MUHAMMAD stated he becarne an’active duty soldier in the United States Army in 1985 and changed duty stations from Fort Leonardwood, Missouti, to Fort Lewis, Washington. b6 MUHAMMAD was assigned to the 12 Engineer Battalion. MUHAMMAD stated he primarily = 7c constructed roads. In 1989, was transferred to Germany and was assigned to the 864" Engineer Battalion. In Germany, MUHAMMAD worked with héavy equipment and received training as a demolitions specialist. : MUHAMMAD deployed to Saudi Arabia before January 1991 during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. During he deployment to Saudi Arabia, MUHAMMAD had the rank of Sergeant and served as a squad leader of approximately 12 soldiers. He stated his duties included serving as perimeter guard, mine sweeping, and general support. During his stay in Saudi Arabia, MUEAMMAD stated he was exposed to chemical agents. He also stated soldiers in his unit * developed Gulf War Syndrome.
