Pursuant to instructions received fran the Bureau, agents of the
Washington Field Office are attending hearings of the above Committee beir

in three parts: (1) his om part in the Canmunist conspiracy; (2) evidence in a

BUDEIZ said that from 1935 until December, 1945 he was a member of the Maw
Conrunist Party, He was brouzht out fron under cover in 1935 by °C. JDER
when BRGMER returned fron loscow, BUDINZ atvended a number of meetings of the
Politbure, -nov known as the National bard of the Communist Party, USA. He
named as the international links~het een the Politburo and Moscow, ALZX
SKQINGLEIAN, WILLIAT RX EOSTER, JAChPRGCHEL, and a man named{TRANIAN. He said

om orders from Moscow. BUDENZ received dally instructions fron the liaison m
betreen the Politburo and the Daily Worker. BUDENZ was then editor of the Datiy/
Worker, BUIJENZ was told to keep a list of 1000 names in his head. These names
were prominent Camunist Party members. He remembered these names and any
shifts of affiliation of these 1000 persons. Four nen who acted as liaison
betveen BUDENZ and the Politburo were: BIDDLESAN, WILLIAU Z. FOSTER, EUGENE
NI'TTIS and JACK STACESL. BUDE!NZ said he was not always supplied with the names
