and the Nation, Tydings was sim-
ply covering up for State Depart-
ment “termites and vermin,” Jen-
nev said.
Tydings’ report, Jenner went on, |
is a “blasphemous perversion of!
the truth.” Tydings himself, Jen-|
ner continued, has organized “gl
conspiracy within hie own political,
family circle to help cover up such
a hideous perversion and betrayal
of the public trust.”
Throughout Jenner's birthday

Tydings sat quietly at his desk
nibbling at a pint-sized unlighted
cigar.
When Jenner finished, Tydings
