he killed by his foolish conduct. What the heck has the integrity of the. girl
to do with his imhature behavior’ If you read the Newsweek, Mr. Hoover, you
will get an idea of his drinking escapades, the latest in April 1969 when he
flew from Alaska to Washington. (July 25, August 4) One really gets a true
picture of him. <All he is interested im is to keep his Senate seat and of
course he must be terribly worried about his. career as a whole. “Graciously!!
he is bowing out to become President, Has one ever heard of such & craftily
deceptive shad hypocritical mevoevering? I do not know if you witnessed his
“confessions” on television read from @ prepared speech, Why didn't he come
‘simply forward, if he hed to come at All, and state how irresponsible his whole
attitude was causing the life of a. young Woman who he Was supposed to take to
the ferry to get home. How ke: lied and contradicted himself Stating he was too 1
confused and shocked to think of reporting the case and asking for holptafter iij/i4)
he saved himself instead of all those condemnable lies which do not make. sénse: 4 td
at all. The meeting of his comrades who are not better than he is, the whole ‘Ti
Clique, that may be truly responsible for the death of the girl. Sure, they
say, he was caught, others: are not, what is ell this: talk about which is net
only complétely futile, why isn't the court doing anything about it? I heard
wkax about the coming inquest, etce I bet, nothing will come of it, only ex-
penses to the "benefit" of, the tax payer. Kennedy has no right to plead the
Fifth to get out of his, eee by doing so admitting his guilt of a erémingl
negligence that result A n Weath. He made it emphatically Imown that for hiy
the matter is closed and never wants he to refer to it agein. His wishes are
for the bird. He should be treated like everybody else in the same boat and if he.
doesntt want to stand Questions which lead to hig conviction he should be forced
tonse. That. he wiggled himself ont of his. guilt,:as far as punishment is concerned
is enough to stamp him for what He is and if he doeen't Want to resign peacefully.
hé should be thrown out. That is the idea of American justice of which the country:
prides itself, or herself. He is a weal pergon, that's the way he was born, the
coWardice he has displayed in this instance ought. to finish him for the rest of
his life and the géoner he disappears from public life the better for him and the
country. We all make mistakes ahd have to take the conséquences, so what. makes hin
think he is different?
I hye written to Senator Mansfie@a, I have written to the District Attorney
Dinis, I have written to Senator Saxbeo, and I am sure, it is all in vaine
