.Service, Washington, D.C,, provided copies of
newspaper clippings on which were written possible
threats and other comments, which material was sent
_ to the victim through the United States Mail.
The United States Secret Service had searched the
material through their name files and visual files -
and determined the sender of this material may be
identical with an uni@ntified individual who has written

Intelligence Division of.the Metropolitan Police,
Washington, D.C., were notified of the matter, [In
addition, Medford Police, Medford, Massachusetts,
Hyannis Police, Hyannis, Massachusetts, and the
Intelligence Division, Boston Police Department,
Boston, Massachusetts, were notified,
The facts in this matter were discussed with
Assistant United States Attorney Paul F, Ware, Jr,, who
advised, in his opinion, the material involved did
not constitute a violation of the Federal Extortion
Statute as it does not contain a definite threat to
injure the addressee or any other person,
United States Secret Service was advised
of the opinion, .
