The following investigation was conducted by sal - [on 1/26/72 at locations indicated: AT CALLAHAN, FLORIDA: BENJAMIN GRUNIG, Postmaster, advised that the only THOMAS WELLS residing in Callahan was T.B. WELLS, known as "BOB" WELLS, 1125 King's Road, telephone # 879-5771. GRUNIG advised that "BOB" WELLS is a highly respected elderly member of the . community who is noted for his temperance. GRUNIG characterized WELLS as a "gentleman of the old South", who was outspoken but not radical in his views. GRUNIG ad by the name of that his records reflect on e individual residing in Callahan, i.e., telephone # [ ___} GRUNIG stated that was a newcomer to the community and was not known to him personally. , Assistant COP, advised "BOB't WELLS is a 50- year resident of Callahan and is a quiet, law-abiding and highly respected ber of the community, with yoepore of any sort. [ |stated that he was aware of but knew nothing about him. Deputy Sheriff, Nassau County Sheriff's Office, advised he was familiar with WELLS and unfamiliar with in words to the effect off above.
