During the course of this investigation, February,
March, and April, 1971, contact has been maintained on a
regular basis with the U. S. postal inspectors at Pittsburgh,
Pa., ‘the U. S. Secret Service, the Pittsburgh, Pa., Police
Department, the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Division, the
McKeesport, Pa., Police,Department, the Homestead, Pa., Police
Department, as well as numerous other police departments in
Allegheny County. During these contacts the various letters
attributable to the unknown subject were exhibited in an effort
to determine whether any of these departments or their personne]
received or observed any such writing or printing. Personnel
of these agencies all ddvised that their files were negative
concerning letter communications and were unable to furnish
possible suspects as to the letter writer.
