SPIRO T. AGNEW, VICE-PRESIDENT;
INFORMATION CONCERNING
On 9/27/733 My. GEORGE BEALL, United States Attorney,
Baltimore, Maryland, telephonically contacted SAC THOMAS H.
PARROW and advised that three CBS newsmen were being detained
by U. S. Marshal's, Baltimore, at his request since there was
some question that the newsmen appeared to be fiiming inside
the room where the Special Grand Jury was sitting in the
AGNEW investigation.
Mr. BEALL stated that the newsmen were on the roof
of the Knickerbocker Buiiding which is directly across the
street from the U. S, Post Office Building taking pictures
of the Grand Jury window. He stated that this was brought
to his attention when jury members as well as a Grand Jury
witness became disturbed over the picture taking of the
newsrien. Mr. BEALL stated that if the newsmen were actually
filming inside the Grand Jury room this could be a possible
viciation of Title 18, Section 1508. He requested that
agents of the Baltimore Office contact him at his office
prior to obtaining fhe film used by the newsmen and after
viewing the film he would make a decision as to any violation.
