Levison stated it was marvelous the way King handled the white and Negro question in his speech, . completely repudiating "the nonsense" of Adam (Clayton) Powell and the "Muslims" (Nation of Islam). Levison also said King measures up to his introduction "the moral leader of America." Levison described this as the "mark of a man."
