King stated that he would be in Washington, D. C., on. November..6,-1963, for an appearance at Howard University. . Jones mentioned that he Would-also-be-in Washington on that date, and he suggested— that they should get together either before or after King's. appearance in order to discuss a number of ‘things-including- a matter pertaining to "our friend.” King indicated to Jones that he (King) would have to go into Danville, Virginia. He said that he really does not want to go in at this time, but he said that in order to boost morale he must go in as he had promised.: He made the statement that if ne loses Danvilie, he will lose all of Virginia. He advised that he will go tb Danville on November 15, 1963, and is considering a new type of operation which he described as "operation dialogue." King said that he plans to have Negroes go in teams to the various business organizations and to the homes of white people in order to talk directly with the people. He indicated that if the people were not receptive to this method, he would resort to direct action by the end of the month.
