At YOUNG'S request, LEVISON promised to attend, MOE FONER aleo wanted LEVISON to be present because, at this meeting, FONER felt they should discuss where they were going with the strike, This information was furnished to the Bureau, Atlanta and Columbia by airtel and LAM dated 5/27/69, captioned «ss “cominfil SCLC; IS-C". 6/5/69 On 6/5/69, a conference of SCLC functionaries was ; held ari included RALPH ABERNATHY, SCIC. President, ANDREW YOUNG, SCLC Executive Vice President, WALTER PAUNTROY, SCLC Washington, D. C. representative, HOSEA WILLIAMS, SCLC Director of Voter Registration and Political Education and STANLEY LEVISOR, The principal topic of discussion was the matter of a contemplated SCLC action on the issue of "Hunger", ABERNATHY felt this issue should be raised in local communities and that they should bring only a representative group to Washington, D. C. at an appropriate time, He opposed bringing large numbers to Washington.' YOUNG suggested the time for such a program as July 1 and that they get local communities to send small delegations to Washington, D. C. at a given time, PAUNTROY cautioned that anything planned for Washington must be well timed. He said he had a meeting scheduled with "MC GOVERN'S people" on 6/6/69, to @iscuse when, 4f at all, pressure should be brought in Washington, He suggested a concentration in several of the liveliest communities they have in Missouri and Alabama.
