This information was furnished to the Bureau by eirtel and LHM dated 4/1/69, captioned "COMINFIL SCLC - IS-C". 4ALS On 4/1/69, CORETTA KING and STANLEY LEVISON held e discussion on her press conference the previous Gay, the _ possibility of suit being instituted on CORETTA's hehalf agesinst JAMES EARL RAY, and the question of whether RAY was the lone assassin of MARTIN LUTHER KING. During the discussion on theassassination of KING, CORETTA told LEVISON that she had told CHAUNCEY (ESKRIDGE, SCLC legal advisor in Chicago) that she does not trust HOOVER or the FBI. She claimed the FBI had been following KING around the south for years and "know everything". CORETTA mentioned letters she has been receiving and said one warned against trying to have January 15, named a national holiday in memory of M‘RTIN LUTHER KING because information possessed on KING will be exposed. This information was furnished to the Bureau by airtel dated 4/1/69, captioned "COMINFIL SCLC, IS-C", 4/8/69 ae Bt el a On 4/18/69, STANLEY LEVISON stated he has been working with CORETTA KING on her forthcoming book because it ‘had tb be completed by 4/19/69, or have the publication date pushed back to 1970. He said that because of this urgency he was able to get some things into the book that the publisher wanted to keep out.
