Worker," an east coast Communist daily newspaper) on Page 6, Column 3, carried an article captioned "'In Friendship! Rallies Assistance to Negro Victims of Dixie Squeeze." This article stated that "In Friendship” is & new organization that had been recently formed by representatives of 75 New York churches, unions, fraternal societies and other organizatiohs to give economic aid to Negroes in the South "caught in the vise of economic boycotts, terror and intimidations," Among the organizations represented at the organizing meeting of "In Friendship" were the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the American Jewish Congress, the American Veterans Committee, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, District 65, the Harlem Branch of the Young Men's Christian Association, the Hotel and Restaurant Workers Union, the Committee on Rural Schools, United Hebrew Trades, Workers Defense League, Transport Workers Union, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and the Retail and Wholesale Workers Union, ; ‘ b| b7D b9p ADMINISTRATIVE PAGE Cont'd wo SERB ET
