KUNTSLER suggested to LEVISON that MARTIN LUTHER KING call MEREDITH concerning this and that KING advise MEREDITH to stay at the Universi of Mssissippi and to forget about writing the book. Be ] On January 31, 1963, LEVISON, in conversation with another New York attorney SHaD POLIER, discussed the fact that a white attorney by the name of WILLIAM HIGGS (ph) in Jackson, Mssissippi, was going to be framed by the State of Mississippi on a sodomy charge. PCLIER indicated that he was aware of this situation and also that HIGGS was to receive an award in New York City on the 12th of February. POLIER and LEVISON then discussed various means of obtaining funds for HIGGS defense, and the strategy that should be used in connection with defense.
