On May 3, 1961, California, advised that he is presently retired but had been a salesman fbr the Western Tablet and Stationery Company for over 20 years. After examining a piece of two hole notebook paper, size 8" x 10::", with souare corners, bearing the "Jewel" watermark, on which one of the letters to STEVE ALLEN was written, stated that he did not believe that such paper had been so an the Los Angeles area in over 10 years and believed that the piece of stationery utilized gibly brought into the Los Angeles areca from out of state. [beaten that two hole notebook filler paper was somewhat popular in the parochial schools and may still be popular in the Si:n Marino area, but he stated that none of the stores have handled any paper bearing the "Jewel" watermark. He stated that he knows that the S:n Marino Pharmacy handles Hytone paper produced by the Western Tablet and Stationery Company. [states he did not think it would be feasible to attempt to Grace the two hole notebook stationery. on May 3, 1961 Stationers i : 1300 Factory Place s Angeles, an bil both advised SA that their company has never an ed any Rising Parchment & rag paper and that they cannot recall handling any paper bearing the "Jewel" watermark in recent years. [rl states that most larse stationery stores would have a variety of paper similar to that used in writing the various letters, except for 100 % rags paper which a stationery store did not stock. He stated that so many stores currently handle a wide assortment of stationery that it would be impossible te trace paper and envelopes that are of common usage.
