LA 9-2498 The second letter, received on the morning of November 1, 1960, in the envelope of which is post marked "Tos Angeles, Calif., Oct. 31, 1960, 3:30 pm, 5" and addressed to Mr. STEVE ALLEN, 15445 ventura Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, California, contained a Special Delivery stamp and was marked "postage due 4 cents", The baak of this envelope contained a post office stamp marked "Received Oct. 31 PM, So. Annex Sta., Van Nuys, Calif." No return addres.3 listed. The letter was typewritten on pink paper 84 by 11 i:.thes. The letter reads as follows: "Dear Mr. Allen: "Just recently I sent a letter to the Los Angeles Mirror's editorial department hoping that 1t would be printed, of course, considering the amount of sarcasm in the letter, it wasn't published, but I'd like to recapitulate that letter to you. I think you'll find it quite interesting: "tmo the Mirror: "tDear Editor: "tT just got finished reading an article in your newspaper on the tv comic, Steve Allen, and I must say that I'm very disappointed that your writer went to such disgusting extremes to glamorize a man who is working viciously for the violent overthrow of this country. "tIn the artide, which appeared in your last webkk's edition, the writer hails Steve Allen as such a great, great man, This is just another in a long line of Hollywood Communists being hailed as heroes.
