LA 9-New G. LEECH, 1027 W. 6th Street, Los Angels 23, Calir, 3. Plain white envelope, 34 by 64 inches, bearing 4 cent Lincoln stamp, pastmarked 9:00 p.m., 10/7/60, Los Angeles, Calif., addressed tn red ink, hand printed, to Mr. STEVE ALLEN, 15445 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, Calif. 4, Hand printed letter in red ink, written on 83 by 11 inches lined notebook paper having 3 holes. This letter is dated 10/7/60, and begins "Go home Communist traitor!....", and endings"....Go home Communist traitor!" Th the handwritten signature bis a 1218 N. Marvin Drive, Los Angeles. . It is believed possible these letters have a connection with the letter previously submitted on 10/11/60, noting that the first typewritten letter above, contains use of “etcetera” spelled “ect” which also appears in the letter previously submitted. The characteristic is also noted that the writer makes only one space between sentences, contrary to the usual typing practice. It is also observed that each of the letters submitted herewith make reference to “Butcher Boy" although one is typewritten and one hand printed. It is requested that the Laboratory attempt to identify the kind of typewriter used in writing the letter dated 10/6/60. Comparison should be made between this typewriting and that of the previously smbmitted letter. The submitted items should be examined for any identifying water marks. These items should also be examined for latent fingerprints, bearing in mind that they were previously handled by the personnel of STEVE ALLEN's office, who are mentioned in referenced airtel and whose fingerprint: cards were submitted for elimination purposes.
