The contents of the threatening letter were furnished to Mrs, ALLEN who appeared not to be alarmed with the letter in that her husband had been receiving many abusive type letters due to the publicity of his firm stand against the death penalty and in support of the ban against nuclear testing in the world. She explained that Mr. ALLEN was associated with other show people in support of the organization, Hollywood For Sane, 910 So. Robertson Boulevard, Los Angeles, and that he was making many bic public speeches for this organization. She said that she felt that she must advise Mr. ALLEN about the letter so he would be advised. The name HARRY GOREN was unlmown te her, Mra. ALLEN contact: ew York City by telephone and requested that SA discuss the matter with him. She was advised that the FEI could not assign personnel to protect her family, and she requested that the proper police authorities be advise tuation. She explained that although her telephon was unlisted that it was public knowledge where Mr. lived. Mrs. ALLEN advised that should she receive any information of value in this matter she would immediately advise the Los Angeles FBI Office. _ At 4:15 p.m., Mra. ALLEN telephonically advised bre saAL___]tnat at approximately 4:10 p.m, she had answered her phone and a male voice had said "Hi." He then said, "Hi, how are you." When asked who he was he replied with a laugh and in the middle of the laugh, he hung up. Mra.
