RE: Complaint relating to receipt of
advance information fromSupreme Court.
Fhile Supervisor MIR vss discussing another case with
Mr. McGuire, an attorney epartment, Mr. McGuire stated that
there had been referred to him a personal and confidential memo-
randum sent to the. (Attome: Generel by the Bureau relating to in-
formation furnished by of the Harshai'ts Gfrice concern-
ing the receipt of 2d a orion from the Supreme Court.
Mr. McGuire stated the Department wowld desire an investigation
but would like to know whether the Supreme Court has been informed
of this information, and if not the Department would do so.
I am informed thet RED 2: souss0c the above subject
matter with you end he was advised to contact Mr. MceGuire and in-
form him that the Bureau would like to have a memorandum from the bIC
Department outlining just that getion should be taken. Hr. McGuire ’- /
was contacted by Supervisor and was informed that what the
Departne 4 to know is whether the Supreme Court had been ad-
vised Serre or anyone else or the information that advance
notice was be received from the court as to their decisions.
Re was infurmed thet so far us the Bureau is aware, the court has
not been informed and, at least, the Bureau has not done so. Nr.
MeGuire stated thet the Department was inclined to the view that the
complainant in this case should hzeve imnediately gone to the Suprene
Court and advised it of the information received, and also brought
the same to the attention of the Bureau, but at any rate Ur. Keenan
will desire an immedicte investigation by the Bureau. Mr. McGuire
was informed that the Bureau would like to have a memorandum from
the Depertment setting forth just what is desired, and that no «ction
will be taken until the receipt ef such memorendum. MeGuire said
that the Department would write a letter to the court and advise the
members of the substance of the compleint and would send a memorandum
to the Bureau requesting an investigation. He stated that these com
munications would leave the Departnent in the imn
