POSTCARD POSTMARKED JUNE 15, 1972,
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ADDRESSED TO
SENATOR MC GOVERN;
SENATOR EDWARD KENNEDY ~ VICTIM
EXTORT ION
Captioned postcard received in U. S. mail at Washington,
D, C, office of Senator Mc Govern was turned over to the Washington
Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on
September 1, 1972, by Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) Louis B.
Sims, Liaison Division, U. 8S. Secret Service (USSS), 1800 G
Street N.W., Washington, D. C. Mr. Sims advised a check of USSS
name and visual files was negative.
The postcard, handwritten, was addressed to The Honorable
Senator Mc Govern, The United States Senate, Washington, D. C. On
the reverse side of card was the following:
"The Chicago Sun Times says that Ted Kennedy may
join you as Vice-President on the Democratic Party
Ticket. DON'T JOIN WITH HIM. Kill that lier,
murderer, bastard before you join with him. Do the
democrats think we poor have forgotten that Chippa
Island murder. Do they think we are deaf, dumb,
blind and stupid? We do not forgive murderers or
rapists. Kill Kennedy now!"
On September 7, 1972, the U, 8. Capitol Police,
Washington, D, C,, and the Metropolitan Police Department,
Washington, D. C,, were advised of receipt of above card.
On September 13, 1972, Area One, General Assignment,
Chicago Police Department, Chicago, Illinois, was advised of
above card and fact it was mailed in Chicago, Illinois.
On September 13, 1972, captioned postcard was discussed
with Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Mary L. Sfasciotti,
Chicago, Illinois. Miss Sfasciotti advised the postcard does not
