CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION OF
SURREPTITIOUS ENTRIES
To obtain authorization to send the attached letter to 8 Special
Avents who have been contacted by the Department in connection with
captioned inquiry.

That authorization be granted to send attached letter to appropriate

J. Stanley Pottinger, Mr. William L. Gardner, who is handling this investi-
vation, Deputy Associate Director James B. Adams and Inspector - Deputy
Assistant Director James C. Farrington on 7/13/76, it was suggested b
that a letter be drafted for the parpose of being sent to Agents who have been
contacted by the Civil Rights Division and advised that they would be interviewed
in connection with captioned inquiry. Attached is a draft of such a letter which
hag a already been approved by Myr. William Gardner, Civil Rights Divigion.
