Fulton Intell, —- suBJECT: SURREPTITIOUS ENTRIES Sere. be In response to the request of the Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights Division, for persona} statements regarding knowledge of break-ins or surreptitious entries since January 1, 1966, I wish to state the following: I have no personal knowledge of any break-ins or surreptitious entries performed by Bureau Agents or others with prior or subsequent knowledge by Bureau Agents since January 1, 1966, other than knowledge contained in correspondence to the Department of Justice which I had occasion to review in my official capacity prior to transmittal to the Department of Justice. In connection with the installation of electronic surveillance equipment for electronic surveillance activity authorized by the Attorney General, I was aware that surreptitious entry may or may not have been performed to effect the installation, I have no knowledge of any specific case wherein surreptitious entry was in fact necessary for installation of such equipment.
