Stanley Pottinger, Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights Division, to Clarence M. Kelley, Director, FBI, wherein Mr. Pottinger requested certain information coa- cerning surreptitious entries conducted by the PBI since January 1, 1966. Mr. Pottinger requested the following information regarding surreptitious entries: i. The date of the eatry. 2. The location and aature of the premises entered. 3. The identity of the person whose premises were entered as well as pertinent information about the person. 4. Any organization or group, if any, which was the target of the investigation in which the entry occurred. 5. The specific purpose of the surreptitious entry. S. The nature of the information and materials obtained. 7. The identity of any other organization, govern- mental or private, that prompted the entry, or participated in the planning or execution of the entry. 8.
