Mr, Kennedy did, indeed, exert himself against organized crime. Shortly after he took office he made it clear in his public utterances that he would conduct a concerted drive against organized crime in his new position. (Exhibit 52) Early in 1961, Mr. Kennedy moved to enlist the combined forces of several Federal investigative agencies for ap intensified drive against organized crime.
