(UPD — Former law studen| Theodore Bundy, accused of murder in the 1975 death; of a Michigan nurse, has been ordered moved from* the Pitkin County Jail because of poor conditions at the facility. Sgt. Rick Kralicek Monday said the Colorado Department of Health advised that no one be kept more than 30 days in the jail, a courthouse basement facility which once held Old West gunfighter Doc Holliday. . - “The jail is just in very poor condition,” said Kralicek, “There is very poor lighting, and the facilities are not in good shape.” Bundy appeared before District Judge George. Lohr Monday, asking to remain in the Aspen jail. Bundy said the Garfield County Jail in nearby Glenwood Springs would keep him too far from his counsel, Bundy argued his Denver-based attorney could fly to Aspen, but not to Glenwood Springs, whch has no airport. Lohr said transportation from Glenwood Springs to Aspen would be provided for Bundy whenever he needs to meet with his attorney. Bundy was bound over for trial last week on ¢ first degree murder charge in the 1975 kidnap and death of Michigan nurse Caryn Campbell. Miss Campbell, 23, disappeared in January, 1975, from the Aspen ski resort where she was vacationing.
