A. HISTORY OF THE GROUP In April, 1985, a warrant was obtained for the search of a 224-acre compound in Marion County, Arkansas. This militarily fortified compound was operated under the name, "The Covenant, The Sword, and the Arm of the Lord," (CSA) by right-wing extremist JAMES DENNIS ELLISON. On April 21, 1985, approximately 400 federal and state law enforcement officers surrounded the CSA com- pound.
