SO Oooo» HISTORY Untitled Zodiac Project The Series: Next year will mark the 50" anniversary of the beginning of the Zodiac’s killing spree in Northern California. To mark the anniversary, the History Channel is executing a six-part series to look at the history of one of the most notorious serial killers in modern times. The hope of this mini-series is to bring the killer and the history of the 1960’s and 1970's to life through the police officers, families, and witnesses connected to the case. in addition to the Zodiac killer’s four confirmed crimes, we will be exploring the 1966 murder of Cherri Jo Bates in Riverside, CA and the 1970 disappearance of Donna Lass in Lake Tahoe, NV and their possible connections to the Zodiac. While exploring these cases we've catered to each local agencies comfort level and supplied resources at their request when applicable. The hope in interviewing a member of the FBI is to discuss how and why national agencies get involved with serial killers. What about the Zodiac case made the FBI provide support to local police departments? Obviously, the Zodiac was operating in multiple different police jurisdictions, so how does the FBI work in that type of investigation? The hope is to discuss less about the Zodiac killer himself and more about how the FBI was involved with the Zodiac investigation.
