Whether it will taze an officiel position in this sree. . 2. Whether it will sanction individual ettorseys funetionina in this area, either on their cw initiative er as part ef an official group. Tha Citizens Council requeste Dallas attorneys, when participating in this cenditioning program, to epesk and act as lawyers << diacussing the problen from the position af law rather than morale. The Citizens Council would like to suggest these specific ways in whics meabers of the legal profession can participate effectively in the over- sii peegran: 1. By standing up_and being counted, beth as attorneys and as private citizens, fer law and order in Dallas, a. By organising a task force of attorneys available to speak te community groups on the vitel necessity of city vide respect for the law, by eutlining the law as it applies te the community on thie erobles, and by stressing the fact that there are lege avenues open to those who, dissatisfied with the law, cam change it. 3. Sy working in the courts, and using their influence with Vases and juries, to see that the law comes to apply te the MNegre in the same fashion a6 te the ehite -- thus increasing respect for their race in the courts.
