II. DISSOLUTION OF THE FPCC
The December 10, 1963 edition of the "New York
post," a New York City newspaper, contained an article on
page 11, captioned "pro-Cuba Group Facing Eviction," which
stated as follows: ,
"the Fair Play for Cuba Committee will be asked
to vacate its offices at 799 Broadway. Building superin-
tendent Edward C. Nugent said he would ask the committee ~
to remove its possessions as soon a8 he could reach the
chairman, Vincent Theodore Lee,
"Lee was recently reported to have been corres-
ponding with Lee Haivey Oswald, President Kennedy's accused.
assassin, who claimed he was an officer in the New Orleans
chapter of the committee.
"Questioned after the assassination, Lee said he
had never heard of Oswald. Later he said, recalling letters
from Oswald he turned over to the FBI the correspondence with
Oswald.
"The FPCC, which took space in the building four
years ago has not been delinquent in rent payments. But
since the President's assassination, several building tenants
have complained to Cross and Brown, managing agents of the
building, and have asked that the committee be evicted.
"twe want them to move,' said Nugent. ‘It's now
a matter of getting them out.'
"The committee occupies four rooms on the third
floor, It is also listed as The Institute for the Improve-
ment of Inter-American Relations. fhe office is cluttered
with papers and there is an accumulation of unopened mail;
