In addition he said that more recent reports have been received from representatives_of the, Central Intelligence — Agency in Southern Europe snd Southem Asia to the effect that the Russians. were experimenting with some_type of radical aircraft or guiied missile which could be dispatched for great distances out over the sea, wade to tum in flicht and retura to the base fron which it was launched. He related that this information was extremely worthy of notice as experiments in this country have so far only developed to the point where we are concemed with delivering anissile to the required point of impact, ant*no consideration has been given to imparting to that missile the ability to return. He also advised that it is a known. fact that the Russians are attempting to develop soms_type of nuclear energy, that they received a wealth of ormation concerning nuclear energy at the time of their occupation in Germany, and that they have at. their disposal a limited supply of fissionable materials. He pointed out that the Russians have some very capable scientists in the field of atone energy and that, in addition thereto, they took into their custody some of the mosteadvanced. and capeble. scientists of the German'Nation. . He stated that insofar as is knowm to him there has never been any part of s missile - of this types recovered from any source whatever in order that an analytical atudy of its nature could be made. He stated that one report hes been received concerning a collision of these missiles with another type of aircraft. This report, according to hin, snanated from Crechoslovakia nerd took place 2 short time prior to the ranort of numevous discs over the United States.
