VICE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION In Reply, Please Refer to File No. Boston, Massactiusetts jarch eb, 196° ABBOTT HOWARD HOPFMAT, on nt ee Rt ee pe In the February 3, 1969, issve of the Worcester Evening Gazette, Worcester, Massachusetts, there appcarcd an advertisenent which announced that an autosraph party would be held on Friday, February 7, 1969, at 6 Pii in honor of Abbie Hoffman, author of "Revolution for the Hel]. of It” at the Paperback Center, 563 Main Street, Worcester, Massa- chusetts. As part of the announcement Hoffman was scneduled to "personally eutograph 100 copies of his best selling trenchant and witty book,” 6? , 06 advised that in view of e controversié] reputation 6 Abbott Hoffman, he end several merbers of the Uniformed Branch of the department kad been detailed to be on duty in the vicinity of the Paper ack Center, 568 Main Street, Worcester, during the period from 5:30 PM until the store closed. He advised that Hoffman arrived as scheduled and was in the store until closing time, about 9 PM. He estimated that at the most 30 or 40 persons visited the store during | the time Hoffman was there. | Hoffman, after leaving the store, went to the Aurora Hotel, 654 Main Street, Worcester. He had a meal there and then left Worcester with his brother JohrWoffman, 43 Wake Robin Road, Sudbury, Massachusetts. John WNYoffman manages the family buSiness, Worcester Medical Supply Company, 55 Cnandler Street, Worcester. Abbott Hoffman planned to Spend the night at his brother's home.
