The Cavett show sends out hate like the sun gives out light and heat," letter enclosed, aay p.l £3 The following references in the file captioned "Demonstrations Protesting United States Intervention In Vietnam" pertain to activities of Abbie Hoffman between 9/19/67 and 9/18/68 in NYC., Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Hoffman, of 30 ST. Marks Place, NYC. gave his birthdate as 7/25/38 when he was arrested at the Pentagon, for placing handbills on parked vehicles. Tnese handbills carried the wording "Exoreise The Pentagon, 10/21-22." Hoffman was arrested in November 1967 in connection with Gemonstrations protesting Secretary Dean Rusk’ appearance at the Hotel Hilton in NYC. Hoffman as spokesman for a group of hippies, held a press conference on 9/25/68 in the front of the building that housed the FBI office in NYC, to protest the FBI sending agents to their homes recently. Hoffman also held a press conference in Chicago, in September 1968, where plans were made to picket the rallies of the three major Presidential Candidates in protes’ of the Vietnam war. (continued }
