Abbott Hoffman
On February 18, 1970, Abbott Hoffman was found
guilty in the United States District Court,
Northern District of Illinois, Chicago, Illinois
for violating the Federal Anti-Riot Law Statute
for traveling in interstate commerce from
outside the State of Illinois with intent to
incite riots in Chicago, Illinois during the
Democratic National Convention in August, 1968.
On February 20, 1970, he was sentenced to five
years imprisonment and fined $5,000. On February
28, 1970, the United States Court of Appeals,
Chicago, Illinois ordered Hoffman released on
$25,000 bond pending appeal of his conviction.
