SA TS whe ©: He... wes z CONRLDENS SE Re: YOUTH INTERNATIONAL PARTY (YIP) Lop ee On June 27, 1972, the YIP called a press conference at 1:00 p.m. at YIP headquarters, Miami Bexh, and members of the press did go to the headquarters, but instead of their being handed a press release, they were given some leaflets, as follows: The first leaflet referred to the march, which is to take place on June 29, 1972, and starting at 2:00 p.m. in the parking area of the convention hall. This indicated the march was to object to the militarization of Miani Beach, comparing it to Vietnam. It also reflected the mrch would go to the Par Three Golf Course where the marchers were to be greeted by residents of the wmmmunity. In connection with this march, information was subsequently obtained that several of the marchers would be in costune. Cathy Stream woud represent Tricia Nixon; Gabrielle Strang would represent Uncle Sam; Shirley Hopper is going to represmt Martha Mitchell, using magic marker to fake black-and-blue marks on her arms. In addition, Ed Sanders, the author of the book about Charles Manson, is going to push an empty wheelchair and indicate that Wallace ia “faking it". It was anticipated they will put on some kind of skits on the parade route. It was further substantiated that the second reason being used for the march is to fre Martha Mitchell, whom they had described as a type of political prisoner. The second leaflet handed the press referred to a picnic to take place at 2:00 p.m. on July 2, 1972, at Lumaus Park, Miami Beach, which is a free-share picnic where everybody brings their own food. This was a good fellowship type of picnic affair. The third leaflet pertained to a senior citizens rally to be held on July 8, 1972, at 7:00 p.m. at Flamingo Park at Miami Beach.
