The subject is a convicted Defendant in the so- called Conspiracy Seven Trial, Chicago, Illinois, involving those persons indicted earlier for violation of the Federal Anti-Riot Statute, as a result of protest activities surrouniing the August, 1968, Democratic Convention in Chicago, Illinois. On 2/20/70, subject was sentenced to five years imprisonment and fined $5,000 plus payment of court costs. As a result of the trial, on 2/15/70, he was found guilty of fifteen separate contempt citations and sentenced to a total of 25 months and 23 days imprisonment. On 2/28/70, the US Court of Appeals (USCA), Seventh Circuit, Chicago, Illinois, ordered subject be released on $25,000 bond. The contempt citations against subject were remanded to the Executive Committee of the US District Court (USDC), Chicago, on 5/11/72, for reassignment to an unbiased Judge, for his subsequent review and a jury trial. The subject has an extensive arrest record, including arrests for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
