D rbances and activities 1 at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, held in August, 1968, provided information “on September 6, 1968 that on or about 2:00 PM, Monday, August 26, 1968, a public meeting was being held at Lincoln Park, Chicago and that a loud speaker announced that groups would be formed near the various leaders. Hoffman's name was menticne?d as a leader, he gorero ycomments over the loud speaker system were encouraging I slp the young people to "... show Chicago for what it is-- disrupt the system--force the pigs to react". a :::: everyone was asked to do his part in e various demonstrations, whatever his part might be, and that the crowd of about 1,000 was told ainly to simply add numbers to the different demonstrations. Ci :::: the crowd was told over and over again e violent and that most of the crowd cheered this omment, however, some of the crowd laughed at it.
