NOTE: An article appearing in the Village Voice 9-19-68, by Nat Hentoff i contains an allegation that Agents interviewed a "yippie" concerning the disorders at the Democratic National Convention and during the interview, the yippie attempted to furnish information concerning a civil rights viola- tion including the badge number of a rioting ‘cop. ** The yippie alleged the Agents were not interested in this information and did not even write the badge number down, Hentoff was interviewed and identified the yippie as Hoffman. The facts alleged by Hoffman are false and he has in the past made other unfounded allegations. The information concerning this incident should be incorporated into an LHM for the information of the Department and affidavits should be obtained so that we will have a record ~ of this matter in the event it should come up again, ff tery es Ns
