New York who in turn called one of his attorneys in Chicago so that
permission of this court for the departure from his scheduled plans
could be requested and that the U. 5, Marshal be notified of the change
in travel plans, .

was in fact communicated to the U. S, Marshal by letter dated Monday,
March 22, 1971,

New York again, who in turn called one of his attorneys in Chicago, to
request that permission be souft for him to remain in Northern Ireland
until March 26, 1971.
7. The defendant-appellant may be reached in Belfast through
John Lawrence of CBS, Wellington Park Hotel, Belfast, the telephone
number of which is 669-421.
8. As evidenced by his communications with his attorneys as
promptly as possible, considering that his return to the United States from

his court-approved trip to Europe was taking place on a weekend, the
defendant=appellant had no intention whatsoever of evading or avoiding his
obligation to obtain the permission of this Court for the departure from his
scheduled plans and his visit to Northern Ireland,
WHEREFORE, the fefendant=appelant respectfully requests that
the court enter an order numic¢ pro tunc granting him permission to remain
in Northern Ireland untit March 26, 1971 or such order as the court may
deem just in light of the circumstances set forth Bbove.
