(WDC). The envelope in which this letter was received was postmarked Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and dated July 15, 1968, The letter was handwritten and the contents of it is set forth as follows: “Justice Abe Fortas "Phila, Pa., Supreme Court "Dear Sir: "In ref, to your rather lengthy article on law appearing in the Phila Inquirer the White Racist Majority isn't buying what you are trying to sell them. You are a Jew, and a member of the Minority. Therefore it is logical to assume your knowledge of law is one sided in favor of the Minority, which makes the rule of law oppressive against the White majority, This is quite obvious to every school boy. When the rights of the ballot box and laws passed by State legislators ofthe South one ruled unConstitutional the entire population of these States has lossed their basic rights in our so called Free Society, Therefore the White Racist Society opposes your appointment as chief justice, We consider you one of the most dangerous men ever to arrive on the American scene.
