The October, 1944, 1asued of "The Seurthern
Patriot" indicated referring to the Southern Conference
for Human Welfare, "The Washingtesa, D.C,, Chapter, under
Under-Secretary of the Interior AME FORTAS, had its last
dinner meeting attended by over 75 Southerners in the
Capital."
The "Southern Patriot" was cited as an "Organ"
of the Southern Conference for Human Welfare by the
Committee on Un-American Activities, House Report 592 on
